Most people tend to only protect their laptops from hackers. We put passwords, secure our data in the cloud, and even back it up in a physical hard drive. But we often forget about our mobile devices. It’s very crucial to get into the habit of securing our mobile devices as well. Always remember the following, to ensure your mobile device is as safe as your laptop.
- Use strong passwords and biometric features. This is a good first line of defense! Remember to always have them on, don’t turn them off.
- Ensure you turn off your Bluetooth. Keeping your Bluetooth off in public places will help prevent hackers from attempting to gain access to your mobile device.
- Avoid automatically connecting to any public Wi-Fi. Again, this will prevent hackers from attempting to gain access to your mobile device.
- Be cautious when downloading anything from your mobile device. Make sure you know the download comes from a reliable and/or known source.
