In an effort to keep our community safe, we would like to share some of our expertise. Is no secret this pandemic has changed the way we live our lives. Every aspect from who we interact with to how we shop, there is no doubt everything has changed. This creates an opportunity for potential scammers, who prey on individuals during this pandemic.
We hope these security related reminders help you and your loved ones stay safe.
- Fake financial offers. Scammers can pose as banks with offers trying to draw your attention. They count with the financial hardship many individuals face during this pandemic. Ultimately they will end up stealing your financial information.
- Fake creditors. Scammers can also pose as a creditor attempting to collect a debt. Remember to always get the caller’s information, hang up, and call using the company’s main number. If they didn’t call you report the call.
- Websites selling “essentials”. There are many fake websites selling hand sanitizer, face masks, and/or others in-demand products. They claim to have deals and low prices, but after ordering the items, they never arrive. Avoid these websites and try buying from credible sources.
